African Attire Design 1

As promised earlier on when i started blogging ,I managed to have pictures taken of an outfit I like and hoping you would like. This is a skirt and top combination and one can wear with or without the headgear whichever is your preference. The black and white combination is not so difficult to accessorize to and to top off the whole outfit a heel to go along with it says it all.

Front view

This dress can be worn to any African function, church or wedding ceremony. This attire is not body hugging and one can always move or dance freely in it.
Tying the headgear is not so difficult oo,just follow what feels comfortable to your head and you will definately love the whole whole.

Shoes Shoes Shoes

As the days get longer the skirts get shorter and out come the wedges. I found these chuute wedges online at a good price too.

Cinco de Mayo Celebrations

Cinco de Mayo is an Mexican Independence party meaning people come together have fun and rejoice the freedom and liberty they have. What better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo sipping on a margarita and having some Mexican dish.  Of course it would have been better if Mother Nature had given us some sunshine to topple up the celebrations.

Join in some of the fun downtown, let lose summer is around the corner.

Here are some links of stuff happening around Vancouver:

Loving My Skirts

Another sunny day it was in Vancouver which meant I could wear my skirt, short sleeve top and not worry about a jacket at all. Good thing more of these sunny days come during the weekend such that after church service I can be up and about and not worry about getting wet from the rain or anything. I'm loving my new hairstyle btw courtesy of Miss Gretta.

Big Brother Africa Is Back

Big Brother Africa is back, a total of 26 contestants from different parts of Africa managed to get selected.I managed to watch a few clips of their first day, an interesting lot they have their and I can't wait to see what all the housemates have down their sleeves. A snippet showed us how Vimbai can speak five different accents in a day, the other girl (will try and figure out her name in due time) has some bossy side to her,one other light complexion girl looks laid back. I will try and keep you updated on more of these housemates and see them unleash their personalities/characters to a whole bunch of people.

May the best contestant win.

Hope the best contestant lures the audience and gets more votes.

Dinner & Dessert

(Brown rice, mixed veggies, chicken & fried plaintains )   (Bread pudding Casserole)

hehe decided to cook a lil' bit of this and that and try out the plaintain( after trying it out at a friend's place).I also remembered how I used to enjoy bread pudding in boarding school so thought of preparing it in my small kitchen.I prepared brown rice and steamed mixed veggies to accompany the plaintains and I certainly enjoyed myself. For the bread pudding I mixed milk and sugar together in a bowl, cut slices of bread into four, layered the bread in a casserole dish ,poured the milk and sugar mixture together and continued layering tll the casserole was full.Placed the casserole into the oven for 35minutes. Let it cool for a bit and again I enjoyed my dessert.

Plaintains can be purchased at Superstore and most African grocery stores.
