Something Orange

And the challenge continues, the pics were in my archive for some time now.
I have been adding color to my closet and this top couldn't have come at the right, got the top from my sis after days of eyeing it at H&M.
Paired it with grey slacks and was ready to go.

Been in Vancouver one has to get used to the rainy gloomy weather so I had to take my pics indoors but I managed to edit the bit I had. Love Vancouver weather though, this is the only place in Canada that doesn't get so much snow and if it snows the city comes to a halt of some sort. To date we have had a few days of snow and its been warm of late with rain here and there.

African Dress:Ghana

Sunny days in winter call for a change in the type of dresses I wear to church. We had a streak of sunny days and I decided to pull out the African dress to church.
I've had the dress for a while now,got it as a present from my Ghanaian friend and was contemplating on shortening it. I still am contemplating but kinda like the length its in right now. Eventually I'm going to get down to doing it though

Bath & Body Works:Shea Cashmere Fragrance Mist

I visited the Bath &Body Works store in Bellingham,WA and They had a knockdown sale. they had a 50-75% sale happening and I decided to try out the fresh fragrance mist.
I love the shape of the bottle it comes in and the mist has a refreshing and lingering smell that stays when you spray it.

Black & Cream + Ankle Boots

A couple of friends and I decided to drive over to Bellingham for a bit of shopping and just hanging out. This is what I managed to put together.

I was looking more for a comfy look as I was going to be walking around the mall and trying out clothes here and there.

Army Colored Jumpsuit

When I found out I was going to visit my birth country I was so excited as this meant I would meet my cousins.friends, attend different functions I had so missed attending (a wedding), enjoy all the fruits that Canada does not offer among other things. This meant I could wear my army colored jumpsuit and color block with my orange heels and orange/sky blue earrings.

I had the opportunity to attend a wedding,an African wedding for that matter on the 31st of Dec. This was a different way to step into the New Year and what better way to end a year both the new coupe and the whole crowd at large. It had been a while since I had attended a wedding that was conducted in Shona, so missed hearing the MC entertain the guests, missed the music and missed the whole joy a wedding brings to everyone.

Me and Noma
The wedding was held at Raintree an exclusive and up-market wedding venue located 30minutes outside Harare and was strictly by invite. This is a place were the church service is conducted beside the stream and there is a tent nearby for the reception. In-between the city and untamed nature lies a place that is still in touch with nature,Raintree. While the service was being conducted we could see monkeys running around in search of food and all.

Thanx to my friend I was on the guest-list. Most weddings that I remember have the bridal team who entertain guests with their practiced dance moves and a band to entertain the guests.

Me and Eve
I met up with a couple of new people and enjoyed myself fully. The wedding was well planned, I enjoyed the entertainment from  the Jazz Invitation band singing to the occasion and keeping guests on their toes and loved listening to some old and new Zimbabwean songs.

Happy New Year

Better late than never, would have done it earlier but seeing I was away and internet was a scarce thing to come by, no time is better than now when I'm all settled back in from my trip from The Motherland-Zimbabwe. Hope the New Year is treating you well and you all winded down to 2011 well.

I had a pleasant trip visiting family, hanging out with friends and attending different functions. Talk about people all grown to the extent that I couldn't recognize some of my young cousins.

loved the weather though the temperatures sometimes were unbearable but the rains had a way of cooling it all down. Loved it when it rained as I could smell the fresh Earth, hear the rain hitting on the roof something I had dearly missed as the rains here are not that heavy.

Stay  tuned for posts loaded with pics of my summer holiday and more.
